Removal of Rob Limits

Post by GhostOfProtocol » Sat Sep 01, 2018 1:02 pm

Well. I do enjoy controversy.

I'll be honest though, the removal of all robbing limits will actually benefit the server. By removing all of the rob limits, you will actively be encouraging people to not walk around with a few million on their person (too many people do this and it's seriously unrealistic that they can have that much money on their person. How many pockets do you people have?!) because of the risk that someone will take everything they own.

This may potentially be a good way to at least begin fixing the absolutely ruined LSRP economy and make LSRP fair for brand new players once again.

This should also drive down the unrealistic robberies. Why? They won't have anything to gain from it. If people stop carrying millions upon millions on their person there won't be anything worth robbing on a person. Guns you say? Hey, if you decide to carry a gun on your person it's your own fault if it gets taken from you.

The link above was a suggestion that suggested just raising the limits to help people make more money. That's not what this suggestion about however, this isn't about making money but instead about limiting people carrying money on them by increasing the risk of them carrying this money on them. If people make more money from this, that's because people ignored the risk of carrying ALL of their money on them.

Now then. I've started the controversy, go mental below.

Picture this:

Firstname_Lastname logs back into the server after a year long break. This suggestion has been implemented and he has no idea about it. Firstname_Lastname has $5,000,000 on hand. Out of nowhere, two players aim a deagle at him and tell him to give them all his money.
An admin arrives at the scene after Firstname_Lastname refuses to give the robbers all his money as he has no idea about this rule.
Admin forces Firstname_Lastname to /pay $5,000,000 to the robbers and Firstname_Lastname's experience on the server after a year long break is ruined.
Firstname_Lastname decides never to log back ingame and leaves the server.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basically, it's almost impossible to tell each and every single player about a new addition on the server.
I can guarantee at least 20% of the server population don't even know about the new safe-zone and the new prison rule that has been added.
Making a drastic change to a rule that has been in place since the very start is only going to end up hurting the server.
The robbing and scamming rule has been wired to so many players' memory that it is easy to forget about a change made to the rule.

That's clearly not a server side fault and a fault of the person. There are obvious indicators everywhere that you should keep checking the rules to prevent yourself falling behind.

Sorry, not what we are aiming for. This would only cause people to move away from the server and it would bring nothing but robberies upon the day to day roleplay experience of people.

Click Here for a comment Surreal made. It pretty much sums it up, robberies should be for roleplay and not to earn money.

We appreciate the suggestion non the less!
