LT GOVERNOR TO FILL VACANT SEATS
By Thomas Carey | DECEMBER 16TH, 2018
Carl Duncan, the Lieutenant Governor, may appoint State Senators to vacant seats due to the 2nd, 3rd and 11th District remaining uncontested and subsequently vacant following the recent elections.
This means Los Santos South, Idlewood and Flint County have no representation in the State Senate. Julia Lampard, a Civil Rights Activist, issued a warning about the vacancies: "The black and Hispanic minorities in areas like Idlewood and Los Santos South have no voice in the Senate. They haven't had any voice since the days of Frank Vaughn."
Whilst Moby Table from Whetstone feels that Senator Calhoun's retirement has set the area back: "You would think that the Republicans would be trying to secure a seat in an area which has remained loyal. Without a representative, everythings gonna' go back downhill!"
The Bureau of Elections have confirmed that the State Clerk has recommended to the Democrats and Republicans that they seek potential members to petition the Governor's Office to be appointed to represent the vacant Districts. These individuals would be unelected and directly offered the position by the Lieutenant Governor.
What do you think will happen now? Will anyone step up to represent these Districts?

Unelected? Honestly should still have to go through an election's process. What will happen if multiple people step up?? Hunger games?

Comment: I echo Ms Lampard's concerns. I was appalled to hear my license to run was refused, both as a Latino and as a woman. Then to find that nobody ran in my home district of El Corona South just goes to show the contempt the system has for Latino San Andresians. The forgotten minority, tucked away behind Unity Station and ignored in the Senate.
