Appelo Says Francis Palermo Is "Alienating Moderates" By James Washington | DECEMBER 18TH, 2018
It comes after Sen. Alexis Franklin steps down from the Chair of the San Andreas Democratic Party, in which Sen. Appelo reacted by saying "Franklins done more for the Democrats than anybody in the past two years". Franklin and the rest of the party decided to appoint Sen. Francis Palermo as the new Chairman, after a short term as a Treasurer. However, it appears that Sen. Appelo is less of a fan of Sen. Palermo as he was of his predecessor. During the interview Sen. Appelo was asked to say who he supported during the heated election between Nina Silva, the current Chairwoman of the Republican Party and Sen. Peter Daniels, who gained the most votes and marginally defeated Silva during the Winter 2018 Elections. However, despite the repetitive questioning, Appelo maintained an evasive attitude, only commenting that the competition cost the party a "supermajority" and that he was "too busy" focusing on his own campaign.
Sen. Appelo did however, comment on the reasons as to why Nina Silva lost against Daniels, labelling it as a "bad campaign".
"Daniels was in the district, knocking on doors, canvassing, talking to people." - Sen. Jep Appelo on the battle for the 1st District.
At the end of the interview, Sen. Appelo almost confirmed that Sen. Francis Underhill will be competing for Speakership and reaffirmed that he will have the full backing of the party. Sen. Alexis Franklin also confirmed that she would be supporting Underhill's nomination for Speaker, stating; "The experience, patience & demeanour of Mr Underhill is ideal for a new political landscape within the State Senate of San Andreas following the resurgence of the Democratic Party in the recent elections."
