Yeah the unscrambling part is the tough one, they should remove it and place with the old system hotwire

No? Fuck no. I'm not gonna sit waiting. If I can do it in 10 seconds (which I can) then why should I have to wait 100-200 or however much time it used to be. It should just give options to choose between hotwiring with the old system or unscrambling.

Sounds too RPGish in my mind. I want to see this but with the idea that all the things you steal should be from real player's cars and houses (Maybe not affecting their entire car status and such) unless I'm misunderstanding this suggestion.

First off, I'ma say great suggestion and props for taking the time to write it out and think it through

I think this could be a great addition giving some tweaks and discussed between those that will script it in... For the most part, stealing things like clothes, car parts and radios would add some very interesting RP to the server.. It's a little dire hopping in a car just so you can /taw and /tad then hotwire it so you can /check... Along with this it's a great way for players that role play characters involved in illegal activities to make some cash which I found pretty hard unless you have connects that trust you OOC'ly to loan you money and pay them back or if you manage to hit a jackpot and go get drugs or guns from a car you broke into which the chances of are pretty slim.. Also taking the time to rob houses for little pay off is quite a drag also.

As for those that mentioned hot-wiring should be changed I disagree with that, I spent time trying to learn the hot-wiring system and it actually has somewhat a learning curve to be able to do it.. At the start I struggled extremely, now I can break top immobilisers without having to try.. You just need to get used to how the words rotate, they are just repeated and switched up.

Overall this would be a great addition, if it can be implemented in with the thief job or have the thief job re-scripted I'm fully supporting.

I agree with this guy. Nothing stops you to RP a thief if you want. Soon Damian adds house robbery script. Also, you can break into cars and take their items. You don't have to depend your RP on "job". Just do what ever you want, RP in details and you'll earn money. Now I imagine people going around /pickpocketing everyone with out decent RP or stealing vehicle mods. I have not seen any single car jacker who realistically role-plays breaking into cars or a robber who performs robberies on a realistic level. Just no, people are already fed up with current unrealistic robberies and there's no need to add more opportunities for them.

Fully supporting. Having ranks in that job will make it more attractive. As petty thief would like to be a master one.
Hopefully people will stop leaving their cars far away from their house or apartment complex they live in.

Why not to make 'heavy' stolen items such as furniture or clothes, being able to be loaded in trucks as cargo, but not being with the trucker job? Here will be the possible differences between both jobs:

Thief:

-Can NOT /cargo buy (This is so it doesn't turn into an 'illegal trucker')

-Can NOT access /tpda. Must use /industry instead.

-Can sell cargo to businesses

-Can /cargo place, /cargo list, /cargo putdown and /cargo pickup

-Depending on the thief rank, he has different access to trucks. (Pety: Sadler, Walton, and Bobcat for example. Maybe only 'courier' vehicles, such as pick-ups or vans, no big trucks.)


Trucker:

-Can NOT steal cargo such as clothes or furniture from stores or homes.

-Can do every trucker command, and trucks can be used depending on the rank.
