/trunk system

Post by Paulike » Sun Jul 10, 2016 2:25 pm

This is ridiculous. I can't take a weapon out of my trunk, without having to start my engine, but a random guy can take away all of my weapons, when my trunk is broken?

Not sure what you mean by "when my trunk is broken"
But yeah, melee items should be able to be grabbed without the engine being on.

It's understandable because of the gun economy anyone can just bind /takegun 1 and get off with their free Desert Eagle, but yeah. It's ridiculous.

Yeah I support this.

You can take packaged guns without engine being on, but not built guns? What if Im being shot at and need to grab my gun ASAP? I dont have 5 seconds to do /engine, then another to turn it off so some cock doesnt steal my car.

I definetly agree, you need to be able to take guns out without the engine on, I can't even stress how frustrating it is to get shot at and have to take the time to type "/engine" just to pull my gun out.

Although I support this, I cannot fathom the amount of trolling this could bring. Unless we can be more specific and add something like "owners grab only".

So some regular player who has no connections with your car, comes with a bat, hits the door 3 times, unlocks the vehicle and steals all your guns in 20 secs tops.

Do you think like this is better? Or more realistic? For example, I wanted to get my gun out of the trunk. I parked my car near Idlewood Pizza Stacks and did /trunk, then saw I have to unlock the car. So I did, I did /takegun and saw that I had to have my engine on. I did /engine, and by the time I went to the back to get my gun, some smart dude got into my unlocked ignited Buffalo and drove away, with my guns as well. Couldn't report him, since he was right, it was my fault, but it was my fault because of the way this script works.

So supporting.

You don't need to get out of your car to get the gun, also if someone just hops in and takes your guns, you report them and they'll be punished. With this being implemented it would be even easier to steal guns nonRPly.

Yeah, I do, because I roleplayed placing my gun in the trunk and I won't roleplay taking it from the car because, last time I checked, guns couldn't teleport. Anyway, reporting players should be the last measure. The actual system just gives an OOC measure to protect your guns, since IRL you don't have to start the engine to take something from your car, it's just ridiculous. If you want to protect your weapon stash, don't be a walking armory. You take them when you need them and you don't leave a van full of AK's unprotected, since IRL it would even have an escort or so. I think it would just make people more responsible.

I am FULLY supporting this. If a trunk is open and has drugs, weapons, inside, the player should be able to get them EVEN though the engine is OFF.

This will help a lot on LEO side when suspects are uncompliant to turn OOCly the engine off so we can take their stuff away from their car, rply.

I never put a weapon in the trunk or had a gun, but well I agree.

Would be very useful, i don't want to turn my engine on just to get a gun, it's unrealistic, IRL you don't need to turn the engine on to steal shit from a car. #supporting.

Trunk should be accessible without the need to start the vehicle engine, not much to add. Simply limit the usage of the /trunk command to unlocked vehicles only, so there would be no abuse.
This should have been implemented long ago.
