That's cause of the additional damage via script. It doesn't distinguish how far away you are, could be addressed without many issues. The default damage by the game itself without the script addition however, is various already depending on the distance.

There is a downside on this, i mean yes shotgun is OP at range and that should be changed, but if you lower the damage it will also be crappy on close range and that's not what shotgun as a weapon is, I suppose it's solid as it is now.
As for /reload part, nobody has time to do that in the middle of the shootout, so that's not an option.

a shotgun is supposed to pack a punch, although the long range damage being the same as close range is pretty iffy, i'd just suggest toning that down if possible rather than the whole gun being nerfed.

I understand your point of not having to reload, but who shoots more than 8 bullets in a shootout with a 12 gauge?
It's not like you stand there shooting all 100 in a row, you take cover and shit. That's when you RP reloading.

I wouldn't mind seeing a system in place similar to the tazer, where an animation is forced to simulate the player reloading after X amount of shells.

'Miles', 'miles'. A shotgun is effective up to 50 meters, which is a bit less than a Manhattan block.
Compare that to LSRP and you'll find that the range is perfectly fine.
This ain't CS:GO, man.

And a reloading anim, if it's not buggy, it's perfectly fine.

The shotgun has no reason to be nerfed. It's a fucking shotgun, what do you expect, to do BB gun damage? The range is fine aswell, considering a normal Remington 870 shotgun has an effective range of about 75-100 yards. (That's 68-91 metres for us normal people.) If you don't want to get slaughtered by a fucking shotgun, outflank it or outnumber it. It's extremely easy to take down a shotgun user, just gotta use your head.

Forcing a reload animation after 6-8 shots would be nice, not sure about changing the damage though.
