The purpose of a mask is to prevent metagaming and add a little more roleplay. That being said, making it admin-perm would only add pointless bureaucracy and waste the administration's time.

The second part of your suggestion would actually be a good addition.

This is the main point here. It's not about whether civilians or police should be able to have /mask. We all need /mask sometimes. It can prevent metagaming in situations where the other party probably doesn't even realise they are metagaming.

People often don't realise how, when it's dark out it's nearly impossible to distinguish people's identidies in a passing car. If you've ever looked at someone inside a dark (even moving) car, you'll know that you can hardly make out more than a silouette most of the time.

But people here instantly recougnise you, no matter how light or dark it is outside because of the floating nametag. This is just one example of why /mask should be allowed to use without putting on a huge clown mask.

I think it's also sensible for people to /mask in a vehicle, but then unmask if they step out (like Police/Sheriff's Detectives do). This mimics the unmarked nature of a vehicle, or tinted windows, and doesn't make it immediately obvious who's driving the vehicle.
/vmask perhaps? Or perhaps the tinted window should somewhat be a vehicle feature that you may or may not upgrade.

Keep the system as it is. It is literally an "OOC" mask anyway. The second point is already in play, if a person has nothing covering their face... You fill out the rest.

I'll put it simple...

Keep it the way it is,

Instead of removing the name-tag above the masks head, replace it with their mask IDs or something that admins can use to identify said MASK in a forum report, would stop those trolls that walk/drive around with /mask and punch/ram you and you cant do anything about it because admins are always busy or something.

As for the clothing item, fixed clothing items are a no go, I'd say implement the mask ID over the head, that way you can report them if they rulebreak by not having anything covering their face.

Another thing I'd suggest; Add a health bar above the MASKS head, In gang areas I constantly see people with MASK getting into fights and then crying in /b when they get B/Wed because the people fighting him couldnt see his HP. Keep the armour bar invisible for /mask (To avoid MG of /masks that are cops or people with PF)
